Stephen T PortellMr. Portell practices in the areas of personal injury litigation, commercial litigation, automotive and heavy equipment product liability litigation, drug/medical device litigation, insurance coverage litigation, and complex business litigation. He serves as a Special Magistrate for Tucson City Court, presiding over a wide range of criminal hearings and jury trials. He also serves on the Arizona Supreme Court’s Judicial Performance Review Commission. Mr. Portell is rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a leader in Arizona’s legal community. He has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America in the area of products liability litigation and as one of Tucson’s Top Lawyers in products liability. He received a “40 under 40″ Tucson business leaders award from the Tucson Citizen in 2008. He has been named Outstanding Pro Bono attorney by Southern Arizona Legal Aid and earned a “Top 50 Pro Bono Attorney” award from the Arizona State Bar on several occasions. He served as president of the Pima County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division. Mr. Portell graduated summa cum laude from the University of Detroit in 1991 and earned his law degree from Wayne State University, where he won the American Jurisprudence Book Award for Legal Research and Writing and the Fred B. Schiffman Award for appellate brief writing. |
