Two Injured in Highway 95 Crash

by Administrator 27. April 2009 06:31

Two individuals have been recently treated for injuries that were sustained on Friday over an accident that happened at Highway 95.

According to reports,  one of the vehicles was making a turn off the highway onto another road.  This turn made the car cut into the lane of a car that was coming straight at it.  The two cars collided, and the impact was so great that it caused one of the cars to roll over on to its side.

Conflicting reports on who was at fault for the accident have hampered the investigation.  Each driver is blaming the accident on the other.

Roundabouts Help Reduce Traffic Accidents

by Administrator 15. April 2009 05:25

A roundabout is the circular road with intersections.  Drivers can only go one way on this right, and must be in the far right lane to turn off.  Roundabouts have gotten recent attention because of the safety benefits.

Roundabouts are safer for a variety of reasons. first, roundabouts encourage the flow of traffic which can prevent drivers from losing focus for a minute at a stop.  Second,  roundabouts let traffic flow at a natural pace. Third, because of the reduced speeds and merging into the roundabout, fatal traffic accidents are less likely to occur.  Another major reason that roundabouts are helpful is the cost.  They can be far cheaper to install that traffic lights in an area.

Roundabouts may be a great oppurtunity to improve traffic flow, safety, and save money.
