Body of Crash Victim Found in Tucson

Authorities in Tucson discovered the body of a man involved in a car crash last weekend in an irrigation canal in Marana Wednesday.

 

Northwest firefighters along with officers of the Marana Police Department, uncovered the body shortly after 12:00 p.m. Wednesday in a canal near Marana Junior High School. The investigation was spurred by the victim's sister telling firefighters her brother had been missing. 

 

According to officials with the Northwest Fire Department, a car crashed early sunday and veered off Interstate 10 near the Marana exit. One man was injured in the crash, and no other victims were found.

 

Firefighters and police returned to the crash scene Wednesday afternoon and conducted another search. Authorities say the body was found after water was drained from the canal.

Authorities have released the identities of two victims of a roll-over crash on I-19 on Wednesday, and believe they have discovered the source of the accident. A 61-year old Tucson man and his 59-year old wife were killed when their Chevy Suburban was rear-ended by Ford Explorer, forcing their vehicle into the median and causing it to turn over. The 84-year old driver of the Explorer was taken to the hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

25-Year-Old Tucson Woman Killed in Route 80 Accident

A driver killed Saturday in an accident near St. David has been identified as a 25-year-old woman from Tucson.  The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the crash occurred at around 7:30 in the morning on Saturday, when the woman's car skidded off the road and hit a dirt embankment, near Milepost 307 on Arizona 80.  She was pronounced dead after the accident.

Two California Residents Killed in Arizona Accident

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is currently investigating an accident that resulted in the deaths of two California residents.

A man and a 3 year-old child were the individuals to lose their lives in the accident.  According to authorities,  the two individuals killed were thrown from the vehicle after the driver lost control.  

A total of four people were injured in the crash.  The accident resulted in the road to have serious delays as the accident was investigated by officials.

11 Month-Old Killed in Accident

An 11 month-old girl was recently killed after a 40 pound television fell on her.  The young girls brother, who is only 2 years-of-age,  was attempting to turn the television channel when the accident took place.

The young child was killed by the TV after it fell on top of her.  Phoenix law officials and rescue personnel rushed to the house where the accident took place.  It was unfortunately too late for the young child and she died from her injuries.  A spokesperson for the Phoenix Fire Department has stated that this was the third accident involving a television falling down and hurting a young child in the last three weeks.

Two Young Children Killed

An 18-month old child and a 4 month-old baby were killed in an accident that recently took place over the weekend on Interstate 10 in Arizona. 

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.  According to reports,   the two children were killed when the vehicle they were riding in was struck from behind by a driver.  The vehicle the children were in was stopped in the east lane of the interstate before it was struck.  

It is currently unclear why the vehicle was stopped in the highway.   Both drivers in the two vehicles involved in the accident were injured.

Sweat Lodge Kills Two

A sweat lodge that was located in Arizona has made national news after several individuals inside the lodge were killed.  The recent incident involved a sweat lodge at retreat.  While taking part in a sweat lodge ceremony,  several individuals were pushed too hard in the process.  This resulted in two individuals being killed from heat related conditions and many others being injured. 

A total of 19 other people had to be treated for other issues including dehydration and kidney failure.
